About Me

I’m a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Addictions Counselor, and my work is influenced by my experience as a first-generation Latina navigating two cultures.

Being bicultural has shaped the way I understand identity, relationships, achievement, and the expectations we carry. I know that there can be more than one set of values operating at the same time: independence and family responsibility, ambition and loyalty, speaking up for yourself and respecting where you come from. I don’t believe therapy should require you to leave parts of yourself at the door in order to grow.

I also have a particular appreciation for people who are accustomed to being capable. I work with high-achieving and overachieving adults, as well as therapists and other clinicians who spend much of their lives being the person who knows what to do, supports others, and keeps moving forward. I’m interested in what happens underneath that competence—not in taking it away, but in understanding what it has required of you.

My approach to therapy reflects how I am as a clinician: curious, engaged, direct when it is helpful, and willing to slow down with you. I pay attention not only to what you are thinking, but to what you notice in your body, what you avoid, the stories you have learned about yourself, and the values you want your life to actually reflect.

I especially enjoy working with people coming to therapy for the first time. You do not need therapy language, a perfectly organized story, or even certainty about what you want from therapy. Part of my role is helping you understand the process while we figure out together what is meaningful to you.

I don’t see therapy as a place where I become the expert on your life. I bring clinical training, experience, and a willingness to ask difficult questions. You bring knowledge of yourself, your history, your culture, and the life you are trying to build. Our work happens where those things meet.

I provide therapy in both English and Spanish and welcome the complexity that can come with living, thinking, feeling, and relating across languages and cultures.
